Orders are custom, so payment is due in full before processing an order if we supply the blank apparel and 50% is due before if you supply the garments (remaining 50% due upon completing the order before delivery/shipment). We accept payment by credit card, Apple Pay, and Zelle transfers. We no longer accept checks or cash. Please note that the order will not start unless payment has been made, so emailing us that you need shirts by Friday but not paying means the shirts never got ordered and your job isn't in the production schedule.
You assume full responsibility for the artwork you submit. That means that you are liable if you violate any intellectual property or copyrights, and you are responsible if your artwork is wrong, has typos or misspellings, wrong dates, etc. and gets printed. We don't know if your design is something that is a knock-off or licensed, and we don't know if you meant to spell Congratulations as Congradulations. Likewise, if the art files are missing fonts or have any other defects, we wouldn't be able to guess that.
We provide sample photos on all new orders which require a timely approval. We usually send 3 photos: one flat, one on a mannequin, and one close-up of the printing. Once a job is on the presses, we will allow up to 15 minutes for water base/discharge inks or 1 hour for plastisol inks for you to approve or make changes. If you don't respond within this time frame, we reserve the right to proceed with the order. We send the photos to make sure we get the job right, but we can't afford to tie up presses and not produce with that machine during the day.
Please take the time to review your order once it arrives and get back to us with your feedback right away. You have 48 hours to report any damages, errors, or shortages. We usually keep your screens for a few days, so if you need to add some more garments, it will be possible. Likewise, if you report a problem, we can check the screens and films for the problems you are claiming. After a few days, we will not honor any claims that you received the wrong quantities or that something was wrong with the order. We have at least one Quality Control person who checks and counts your order before it goes to the press and after printing. They keep a detailed log. If there are any shortages, we will notify you or the vendor prior to sending you the job. Sometimes people make mistakes, so we give people the benefit of the doubt but up to a point. Days or weeks later allows for theft, loss, or damages by your staff or group members - which we won't be responsible for.
We are experts and have over 20 years of printing experience on tens of millions of garments. We follow various steps to make sure the order comes out the way you want it, but we have had some people who try to get free work by making complaints like "the ink is too heavy" or "the red is not the right red". We follow your instructions and even offer pantone color matching, sample photos, and will follow tech packs or mockups the way you provide them. But we will not refund orders or redo jobs because a customer didn't provide specs or has some subjective criticism. If we print the back artwork at 10" when you asked for 9" - then yes, we will be responsible for that mistake. But if you don't tell us how large to print the design, we gauge that the mockup looks like 9" and we send you pictures of the sample print and you approve the sample, then we aren't going to redo the shirts because you say "the design looks too small; I wanted it bigger".
We charge you for the work of producing the films and screens. This offsets our costs associated with color separations (art time), film output (toner and transparencies cost money), screen burning (coating and exposing the screen, washing it out, covering pin holes, taping up the edges, etc.) - but that doesn't cover the cost of the screens themselves. Therefore, the screens remain property of avanTgarde unless you purchase them ahead of time. We usually hold onto your films for up to a year and the screens are reclaimed around a week after a job has been delivered. If you want to reorder the same design in the future, we usually won't charge you for remaking the screens (unless they are jumbo or four color process). However, the screens are not yours to keep after the job is printed, and we aren't required to save them for some potential reorder in the future. We used to keep screens and had hundreds of frames in racks like books in a library, but we were spending more on rent and new frames than we do on erasing screens and remeshing old ones.
