1993 - first for-profit tees
Owner/founder Adam Campos designs his first t-shirt for his Stanford University dorm and sells a whopping 40 units, doubling his investment. He continues designing and sourcing t-shirts for college student groups at Stanford, UCLA and eventually nationwide.
in-house printing DTLA
After being let down by numerous screen printing contractors, Adam rents a space in the downtown Los Angeles Fashion District, purchases his own screen printing equipment, and hires his first printer Guillermo in 2021. Within a year, avanTgarde was printing for internationally known clothing brands.
millions of t-shirts later...
In 2020, avanTgarde becomes a multi-national firm setting up a factory in Ensenada, Mexico. Same quality but lower prices and longer lead times. No more same-day service or personalized orders offered, but the move saved the company from closing its doors.

LOCATIONS
After printing awesome t-shirts in the Los Angeles Fashion District since 2001, avanTgarde was forced to move its operations in 2020 as part of the Covid-19 Lockdowns. Mayor Eric Garcetti enforced business shut-downs as part of a brilliant plan to turn LA into a complete shit hole. So we moved to San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico and kept working away printing face masks and t-shirts, oversized sweat suits, and whatever else people needed.

Unfortunately, we no longer take walk-in appointments or have a show room for public/retail customers. We do bulk wholesale orders for businesses, teams, groups, schools, churches, events, and organizations. If you need 5 shirts for a bachelor party, we aren't servicing those types of jobs anymore.

DELIVERY AND SHIPPING
Since we moved away from LA, we have been offering delivery or shipping as options to our customers. Delivery fees are nominal ($20 for two boxes) and handling fees for shipping are only $5 per box. This is just to offset the added cost of saving you the time of driving through traffic to pick up your completed order.
